Student Placement - Packaging Engineering

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day business support for the Packaging Integrated Process Team Engineering Team.
• Assist with engineering, packaging, and site improvement projects.
• Develop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, supply, and cost.
• Support problem-solving and investigations into safety incidents and customer complaints.
• Apply company policies, procedures, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices while accurately recording completed training.

Requirements

• Currently studying an engineering-related degree.
• Available for a 12-month placement beginning in August 2026 and returning to the degree course afterward.
• Suitable for students in their third or penultimate year of study.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, collaboration, attention to detail, and deadline-management skills.
• Must be able to attend the assessment centre on site at Cramlington.

Hiring process

• Selected candidates take part in an initial informal discussion between 9 and 18 November 2026.
• Successful candidates attend an early December assessment centre and final interview at the Cramlington site, including a site tour and practical activities.
