TL;DR

Cardiff, London or Remote (UK). Distributed working within the UK with ad hoc meetings in London.

Base salary £170k - £200k + Equity + Benefits

What you will do

  • Drive secure-by-design mandate, transitioning from reactive to proactive architectural invariants for core platform primitives.
  • Identify and solve fundamental cross-cutting security problems through major engineering improvements.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to embed security culture into development processes.
  • Cultivate engineering-first culture, delivering tools and frameworks for fast, secure development.
  • Manage engineering leaders and senior contributors, ensuring high performance and inclusive leadership.
  • Collaborate with CISO, CTO, and product leaders on security best practices and roadmap alignment.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship available and relocation support to UK.
  • Architectural authority to challenge complex decisions in distributed systems and cryptographic trust boundaries.
  • Proven leadership of 30–50 person engineering organizations in high-growth tech environments.
  • Deep software engineering experience, likely as former Senior/Staff Engineer.
  • Outcome-obsessed, prioritizing high-leverage security over compliance processes.
  • High emotional intelligence for inclusive, blameless team environments and decisiveness in ambiguity.
