Engineering Manager (Cloud Infrastructure)

Engineering Manager (Infrastructure/DevEx): Leading the Engineering Productivity and Cloud Infrastructure team to build durable engineering leverage for a 50+ person organization with an accent on CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience. Focus on owning the technical roadmap, mentoring high-performing engineers, and bridging the gap between startup velocity and Fortune 500 constraints.

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA (Remote Monday & Friday, Office Tuesday–Thursday)

Salary: $250,000 - $300,000

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing infrastructure and DevOps engineers.
• Define and execute a 12–18 month roadmap for Engineering Productivity and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Establish Engineering Excellence KPIs and dashboards focusing on CI duration, deploy frequency, and MTTR.
• Drive architectural decisions for CI/CD, observability, IaC, and developer tooling.
• Manage the cloud infrastructure, security, and networking partnership with Ryder.
• Collaborate with TPMs and peer managers to negotiate scope and unblock dependencies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience with 4+ years in people management of software/infra/SRE engineers.
• Proven track record of owning multi-quarter technical roadmaps in high-growth environments.
• Strong technical foundation in AWS, Kubernetes, Python, and IaC (Pulumi or Terraform).
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, or DataDog.
• Experience operating in B2B SaaS or enterprise environments where scale and SLAs are critical.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling DevEx/Platform functions from early-stage to high-leverage organizations.
• Experience working in a startup-within-an-enterprise model (e.g., acquired startup inside a Fortune 500).
• Domain expertise in logistics, supply chain, or freight technology.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, GraphQL, Flink, Materialize, Debezium, or Kafka.
