TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Medtech/AI): Defining and building the legal function for an AI-driven health-tech platform with an accent on regulatory, commercial, and corporate risk. Focus on operationalizing legal infrastructure, managing outside counsel, and driving company strategy to accelerate growth.

Location: Must be based in and work in person in New York (SoHo)

Salary: $250k – $350k

What you will do

  • Own and operationalize legal infrastructure, including contracting, compliance, regulatory posture, and corporate structure.
  • Lead a network of outside counsel, synthesizing input and driving high-confidence decisions.
  • Build scalable legal workflows to support commercial velocity across provider, pharma, vendor, and data relationships.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry shifts to turn risks into strategic opportunities.
  • Implement legal or structural changes that expand company capabilities or unlock strategic advantages.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership on GTM support, product expansion, and critical company-wide priorities.

Requirements

  • 6–15 years of legal experience, ideally combining top-tier law firm and in-house experience at a high-growth company.
  • Fluency across commercial and regulatory domains, specifically within healthcare or life sciences.
  • Proven track record of navigating ambiguity and balancing risk with speed.
  • Experience managing outside counsel and distilling complex legal issues into actionable recommendations.
  • Full-time onsite presence in the New York office is required.
