What you will do
- Own and manage the litigation and pre-litigation docket, including commercial disputes, medical malpractice, and employment claims.
- Direct outside counsel strategy across multiple jurisdictions, managing discovery, witness preparation, and trial readiness.
- Partner with operations teams to identify liability risks in service delivery and implement process improvements.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the People & Culture team on employee relations, investigations, and separations.
- Draft and update employment policies and handbooks to ensure compliance across all jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments across the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one US state.
- 7+ years of legal experience in litigation (healthcare liability experience required) and employment law.
- Proven experience managing outside counsel strategy, budgets, and performance.
- Experience advising on employee relations and conducting workplace investigations.
- Strong ability to communicate legal concepts in plain language to non-legal stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with ambiguity.
