Pre-Approval Specialist

TL;DR

Pre-Approval Specialist (Mortgage): Oversee and manage the loan process from start to finish, including reviewing income, assets, credit, and disclosures to ensure loan stability and best program fit. Focus on pre-underwriting documentation, pipeline management for Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and reverse mortgages, and communicating programs and costs with borrowers.

Location: United States (all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico)

Salary: Hourly $28.00–$35.00 (eligible for monthly bonus)

What you will do

• Provide customer service by explaining loan programs, costs, and documents to borrowers.
• Review and audit income, assets, credit, and run DU to verify mortgage file stability.
• Manage pipeline of various loan types including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, 203k, Jumbo, and reverse mortgages.
• Pre-underwrite documents like paystubs, W2s, bank statements to support loan approval.
• Prepare and deliver disclosure packages and ensure optimal loan structure for borrowers.
• Input data for disclosures and set up loans to fit borrower needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 3-5 years residential mortgage processing experience.
• Knowledge of RESPA guidelines and mortgage/consumer regulations.
• Knowledge of DU, LP, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows.
• Excellent math, analytics, communication, prioritization, and time management skills.
• License required for communicating loan programs and costs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Encompass LOS.
• Prior underwriting or processing experience.
