What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of email operations specialists, managing priorities and performance
- Oversee administration, maintenance, and improvement of email infrastructure including MTAs, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, DNS, and filtering systems
- Monitor health, deliverability metrics, and sender reputation; troubleshoot complex mail issues
- Handle escalations as primary contact, coordinating with Support, Engineering, Security, and Account Management
- Lead incident response for outages, ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and provide strategic recommendations
- Stay current on industry trends and support additional projects as needed
Requirements
- 4+ years in email operations, deliverability, or mail infrastructure
- 1–2+ years of team leadership or people management
- Strong knowledge of SMTP, IMAP, POP3, MIME protocols
- Hands-on with SPF, DKIM, DMARC implementation and troubleshooting
- Experience diagnosing complex mail delivery issues in enterprise/SaaS environments
- Familiarity with MTAs like Postfix, Sendmail, or Exim; DNS management
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana or Datadog
- Exposure to phishing prevention, spoofing protection, and email security
- High-volume or transactional email environments
