Engineering Manager (Email)

Location: Austin, United States; hybrid

Salary: $160,162–$282,952/year base compensation; expected OTE of $180,000–$318,000/year.

What you will do

• Lead the Email engineering team responsible for infrastructure delivering billions of personalized emails each month.
• Build and scale highly parallelized email personalization and delivery systems.
• Develop REST APIs for managing and tracking user subscriptions.
• Maintain preference-management web pages and dashboards for configuring customer email domains.
• Partner with product, design, and engineers to deliver customer-driven features.
• Guide architectural decisions, contribute code in high-leverage situations, and own the team’s vision, goals, and processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of success.
• 2+ years leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience building foundational systems at scale and leading software projects with significant organizational impact.
• Ability to work autonomously, take responsibility, communicate effectively, and make difficult technical tradeoffs.
• Ability to engage with technical details to inform engineering and architectural decisions.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, JavaScript, or React.
