Leader, LCR Strategy and Operations (Legal Operations)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 CAD per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

• Lead three-year strategy, annual business planning, objective setting, OKRs, and work plans for the legal, compliance, and internal audit team.
• Develop the team technology strategy and implement solutions for document management, contract lifecycle management, reporting, applications, licenses, and subscriptions.
• Oversee financial management, vendor relationships, external counsel, knowledge management, information governance, records management, and litigation hold practices.
• Plan and deliver cross-functional projects, managing stakeholders, timelines, budgets, resources, audits, business continuity, and organizational initiatives.
• Improve operational effectiveness by designing processes, workflows, metrics, reports, training, and continuous-improvement practices.
• Lead talent strategy and people management, including hiring, onboarding, resource allocation, engagement, performance reviews, career development, and team communication.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree and at least 7 years of related legal operations experience.
• Knowledge of financial and human resource management, records management, technology, information governance, vendor management, data analytics, and knowledge management.
• Strong experience in strategic planning, facilitation, people leadership, operational excellence, and cross-functional project delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, training, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Technological proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and MS Teams.
• Ability to manage confidential information, competing priorities, deadlines, and sensitive stakeholder relationships in a changing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in business management, project management, change management, and process development.
• Knowledge of legal industry practices and corporate legal department systems, processes, and procedures.
