TL;DR

Associate Systems Administrator (Healthcare IT): Deliver onsite and remote technical support for hospital IT systems, data center operations, and end-user issues with an accent on prioritizing patient care-critical systems, hardware/software troubleshooting, and VoIP telephony. Focus on diagnosing complex network problems, managing service desk tickets per ITIL practices, and maintaining IT asset inventory under high-acuity healthcare demands.

On-site position at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. Participation in on-call rotation for after-hours support required. Up to 10% travel.

What you will do

  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to clinical and non-clinical users, prioritizing patient care systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and voice issues; escalate when needed.
  • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, and VoIP phones including Cisco Call Manager.
  • Monitor, prioritize, and resolve service desk tickets using ITIL best practices.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure, data center operations, user access, and asset inventory management.
  • Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and contribute to policies reducing recurring issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree, 2+ years experience, or technical certification preferred.
  • 1+ year in Data Center Operations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Basic experience with Service Desk ticketing (e.g., ServiceNow) and ITIL knowledge.
  • Proficiency in PC operation, Microsoft Word/Excel; valid Driver’s License for offsite travel.
  • Compliance with healthcare IT standards and HIPAA practices.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Apple products, and networking principles.
