What you will do

• Design system firmware architecture and develop embedded firmware components for controllers handling motors, sensors, vision, smart card programming, laser engraving, and printing.
• Code, test, debug, and document firmware for digital, analog, RF, power, and motion control systems.
• Participate in design/code reviews, hardware/software integration, and development testing.
• Perform design trade-offs, provide schedule input, and resolve product issues through evaluation and modifications.
• Contribute to policies, standards, and process improvements for team efficiency.
• Create enhancements emphasizing system-wide benefits, iterative design, and thorough testing.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience with embedded software/hardware/firmware in product development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Extensive experience (6+ years) with C++ and/or C in embedded environments. Must have unrestricted work authorization for US.
• Experience with embedded Linux, VxWorks, or other RTOS; Yocto Project/OpenEmbedded; revision control (Git/Subversion); unit/integration testing.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, initiative, engineering judgment, and communication.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in relevant field.
• Experience in Linux kernel development.
• Knowledge in motor control, smartcard, color printing, RFID, security (encryption/PKI), laser control, networking, scripting.
• Proficiency using AI tools for code generation/analysis.
• Ability to work autonomously with cross-functional teams.
