What you will do
- Review and advise on employment agreements, restrictive covenants, compensation, severance plans, and onboarding documents.
- Advise HR on new hires, transfers, terminations, temporary/contract labor, background checks, and contingent workforce management.
- Monitor legal developments, advise on new laws, pending legislation, and compliance matters.
- Support M&A transactions including diligence and employee integration.
- Provide litigation support for labor/employment disputes company-wide, including EEOC complaints, wage/hour, FMLA/ADA, wrongful termination.
- Manage offshore labor, visas, and consult on employment/labor/compliance with legal team; conduct training sessions.
Requirements
- Active Member of a State Bar
- JD with strong academic credentials
- Experience providing employment advice and counsel for white collar workforces
- Ability to work independently on complex legal matters, interact with executives, vendors, agencies, and outside counsel
- Attention to detail, adaptability, effective communication, and collaborative work in close quarters
- Must remain in stationary position for prolonged periods; day-to-day contact with others
