Senior Corporate Counsel - Employment (Employment Law): Providing legal advice and support to the human resources organization across employment agreements, benefits, compliance, litigation, and workforce matters with an accent on complex legal guidance, policy management, and executive collaboration. Focus on handling multi-jurisdiction labor disputes, supporting mergers and acquisitions, advising on contingent and offshore labor, and managing visa-related matters.

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States. Office-based role with 1–20% travel within the US.

Salary: $164,000–$305,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Provide legal advice, guidance, and support to the human resources organization under the supervision of the General Counsel.
  • Review employment agreements, restrictive covenants, compensation documents, severance plans, onboarding materials, benefit plans, and employment policies.
  • Advise on hiring, transfers, terminations, temporary and contract labor, independent contractor programs, and background checks.
  • Monitor employment laws and compliance matters, deliver legal training, and support the HR compliance program.
  • Handle labor and employment disputes across multiple jurisdictions, including EEOC complaints, wage-and-hour disputes, FMLA/ADA matters, and wrongful termination claims.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions, employee integration, offshore labor matters, visas, vendors, regulators, executives, and outside counsel.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of applicable experience.
  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
  • Active membership in a state bar required.
  • Experience working independently on complex legal matters, making decisions, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and manage changing priorities with attention to detail.

  • Experience providing employment advice and counsel for white-collar workforces.
  • JD with strong academic credentials.
