TL;DR

Senior Corporate Counsel - Employment: Providing legal advice, guidance, and support to HR on employment matters, benefits, compliance, litigation, and M&A with an accent on complex issues across multiple jurisdictions. Focus on reviewing agreements, advising on hires/terminations, managing disputes including EEOC and FMLA/ADA, and overseeing HR compliance programs.

Location: Charlotte, NC (full-time onsite)

What you will do

  • Review and advise on employment agreements, restrictive covenants, compensation, severance plans, and onboarding documents.
  • Advise HR on new hires, transfers, terminations, temporary/contract labor, background checks, and contingent workforce management.
  • Monitor legal developments, advise on new laws, pending legislation, and compliance matters.
  • Support M&A transactions including diligence and employee integration.
  • Provide litigation support for labor/employment disputes company-wide, including EEOC complaints, wage/hour, FMLA/ADA, wrongful termination.
  • Manage offshore labor, visas, and consult on employment/labor/compliance with legal team; conduct training sessions.

Requirements

  • Active Member of a State Bar
  • JD with strong academic credentials
  • Experience providing employment advice and counsel for white collar workforces
  • Ability to work independently on complex legal matters, interact with executives, vendors, agencies, and outside counsel
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, effective communication, and collaborative work in close quarters
  • Must remain in stationary position for prolonged periods; day-to-day contact with others
