Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment

Location: Davidson, North Carolina, United States. Work onsite Monday through Thursday; choose the work location on Fridays.

Annual base salary: $198,993.33–$302,400.00.

What you will do

• Serve as the lead legal advisor on labor and employment matters across the Americas.
• Advise Human Resources, business leaders, and executives on employee relations, performance management, terminations, wage and hour matters, leave, accommodations, investigations, and workplace policies.
• Lead strategy for employment disputes, agency charges, claims, and litigation, including outside counsel management.
• Direct sensitive workplace investigations and translate legal and regulatory developments into practical business guidance.
• Support restructurings, workforce changes, restrictive covenant matters, policy development, training, and employment compliance initiatives.
• Build scalable legal processes and governance while mentoring and managing members of the labor and employment function.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of relevant labor and employment legal experience.
• Significant corporate employment law experience, including disputes, litigation, investigations, and policy counseling.
• Ability to operate independently, own a legal function or major subject-matter area, and advise senior business leaders.
• Strong judgment, communication, collaboration, litigation management, organization, and people leadership skills.

• Experience in both a law firm and an in-house environment.
• Experience advising a large, multi-state organization.
• Background in complex employee relations and enterprise-level employment compliance.
• Experience building legal processes and improving legal operations.
