Lead Engineer, Risk Technology (Java)

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, performant low- and zero-GC JVM services and APIs.
• Translate complex risk models and business requirements into well-tested implementations.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts and product teams on financial products and risk models.
• Optimize and refactor the existing codebase to improve testing, performance, and maintainability.
• Set high standards for code quality, engineering practices, and performance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience as a Java backend engineer.
• Expert Java proficiency and experience architecting highly performant, low-latency systems.
• In-depth knowledge of TDD, back testing, and stress testing.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, DRY, Clean Code, API design, and microservices.
• Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.
• Strong understanding of financial products and risk methodologies such as SPAN and VaR, with exceptional mathematical and analytical skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with event-sourced architectures, columnar storage and databases, Chronicle Queue, Kotlin, and cloud technologies.
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers through pairing, collaboration, and code reviews.
