What you will do

• Lead day-to-day operations of the M&P Laboratory and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and specialists.
• Drive ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap accreditation, maintaining audit readiness and closing findings.
• Oversee all mechanical testing, metallography, and advanced characterization (SEM, EDS).
• Manage chemical and physical analysis in compliance with ASTM, AMS, and ISO standards.
• Lead the deployment of laboratory automation, including LIMS and robotic specimen handling.
• Own capital planning for equipment and partner with Engineering to support New Product Introduction (NPI).

Requirements

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry (Ph.D. preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in M&P or metallurgical laboratories within aerospace or defense industries.
• 3+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for ITAR compliance.
• Proven experience leading ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and working knowledge of Nadcap AC7101.
• Hands-on experience with LIMS deployment and hardware laboratory automation.

Nice to have

• Experience as an ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Manager or Technical Manager.
• Direct experience as a Nadcap-designated representative or internal auditor.
• Working knowledge of additive manufacturing processes (PBF-LB and DED).
• AS9100 Lead Auditor certification or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
