What you will do

• Lead the development and characterization of high-performance alloys such as Titanium and Steel for wearable components.
• Optimize metal forming processes including MIM, 3D printing, forging, and precision casting for high-volume production.
• Develop and qualify advanced thin-film coatings including PVD, CVD, and Anodizing to optimize CMF and wear resistance.
• Conduct microstructural and forensic analysis using SEM, EBSD, and XRD to investigate metallic failures.
• Establish comprehensive testing protocols for tensile, hardness, and toughness evaluation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of expertise in metallurgy, metals engineering, or surface engineering for high-volume manufacturing.
• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Masters or PhD preferred).
• Proven track record of shipping complex metallic components in consumer electronics, medical, aerospace, or automotive industries.
• Deep expertise in the metallurgy of Titanium.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in San Francisco, California.
