TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Fintech): Drafting, negotiating, and executing commercial agreements while providing legal guidance and risk assessment to business teams with an accent on data protection, e-privacy compliance, and corporate integrations. Focus on developing legal processes, policies, and precedents to support business growth and new product initiatives.

Location: Hybrid: 2 days per week in our Cardiff office

What you will do

  • Draft, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements while improving supporting processes.
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice, risk assessment, and mitigation to business teams.
  • Advise on compliance with data protection and e-privacy laws.
  • Assist with acquisitions and corporate integration projects.
  • Establish and manage policies and guidance for legal and commercial issues.

Requirements

  • 1 to 5 years’ post-qualification experience in-house or at a commercial/corporate law firm providing full-service support.
  • Qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales (or another common law jurisdiction).
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements to tight timescales.
  • Experience advising on IT, data protection/e-privacy, commercial law.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving in-house team.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of intellectual property, competition law, regulated sectors.
  • Knowledge of insurance and/or financial services.
