Advanced Software Engineer: Perform software requirements analysis, research, design, develop and test software and tools for mission-critical defense systems with an accent on technical planning, verification, validation, and AI/ML opportunities. Focus on applying standards throughout the system development life cycle, building distributed multi-threaded systems, and delivering superior user-centered designs.

Location: Hybrid/Flex/Remote while on-site at Pittsburgh location. U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance required at time of hire.

Salary: USD $112,924 - $125,275/Yr.

What you will do

• Perform software requirements analysis, research, design, develop and test software and tools, including new products or enhancements to existing applications
• Conduct technical planning, verification, validation, cost and risk analysis, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
• Apply standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle
• Research data from customer proposals, market trends, technology state and specifications to assess design feasibility
• Support technical culture through engagement, curiosity and motivation to solve complex problems
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field + 5+ years experience, or Master’s + 3 years
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance at hire
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, computational complexity)
• Solid OOP and software design skills
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript (OOP techniques)
• Web services knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux)

• Experience with AI/ML models
• DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm/Ansible/Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab)
• Cloud services (AWS)
• Agile methodologies and leading software teams
• Concurrent programming, multi-threaded systems, memory/CPU profiling
