Location: Must be based in the US (Multiple locations available: Houston, Ann Arbor, Chattanooga, Dallas, Atlanta, Orlando, Phoenix, Cary, Tualatin, Overland Park). Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment.

What you will do

• Function as a technical subject matter expert and specialist for the Protective Relay Settings Team.
• Develop protective setpoints based on industry standards, best practices, and client requirements.
• Perform system modeling and analysis using software programs such as ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, and SKM.
• Create downloadable setpoint files using proprietary platforms like SEL AcSELerator Quickset and GE Enervista.
• Develop and manipulate logic utilized in protection and control schemes.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and QA/QC reviews for lower-level engineering work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience, with a preference for 5-10 years in Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation.
• At least 5 years of experience specifically in the development of protective relay settings.
• Knowledge of P&C design concepts, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and wiring.
• Proficiency with Mathcad and Excel for protective setting calculations.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) License in State of Residence or Project Needs is highly preferred.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV) and its implementation.
• Experience with communication protocols such as DNP, SEL, MMS, and Modbus.
• Experience with NERC-PRC standards and other industry regulations.
• Ability to support proposal development, including scope of work and engineering estimates.
