What you will do

• Develop and modify one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, and wiring diagrams for substations.
• Design auxiliary AC/DC power systems and write technical specifications for major high-voltage substation equipment.
• Coordinate with SCADA and substation physical engineers to ensure full system integration of monitoring and control systems.
• Perform critical technical calculations including voltage drop, CT burden, saturation, and short circuits.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and technical instruction to less experienced staff members.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and functional checks during system startups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in P&C system design for medium voltage electrical power projects.
• Deep knowledge of IEEE, NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards.
• Experience with telecommunications, protective relaying, and SCADA automation.
• Ability to travel periodically to visit project sites.
• PE license from a US State (NC and NY) is preferred.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of low voltage coordination and arc flash studies.
• Proficiency in ASPEN, Doble, AutoCAD, SKM, or ETAP software.
• Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, General Electric, and Basler equipment.
