What you will do

• Establish protection requirements and control schemes in coordination with System Security personnel.
• Manage substation engineering projects through the full project management lifecycle.
• Evaluate protection and control devices and provide technical recommendations for procurement.
• Develop detailed technical drawings, including wiring diagrams, layout/installation drawings, and bills of material.
• Provide on-site engineering support during construction, commissioning, and equipment checkouts.
• Support major storm restoration efforts through field assessments and repair identification.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in power system engineering and operations.
• Eligibility to become a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida.
• Eligible to obtain FE certification in Florida within the first two years of employment.
• Ability to work in substation environments, including walking on uneven surfaces.

Nice to have

• Current Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Florida.
• Experience supervising complex engineering studies and reports.
• Ability to assist in training and supervision of other employees.
