What you will do

• Design and document physical substation layouts, including conduit, grounding, and control shelter arrangements.
• Perform complex engineering calculations such as arc-flash, lightning protection, bus design, and underground ampacity.
• Create and verify material lists for major and minor substation equipment.
• Provide technical support to construction managers, field staff, and project managers.
• Manage project schedules and coordinate problem-solving across design teams.
• Travel periodically to customer offices and active construction sites for meetings and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in physical design of high-voltage substations.
• Active PE license is required.
• Must have a clean driving record for company vehicle use.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Mathcad.
• Ability to travel for overnight site visits as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD, CDEGS, CYMCAP, LitePro, FEAP, or SAP-2000.
