Location: Onsite in Delft, Netherlands. Relocation support is provided.

Salary: €3,059 – €3,881 gross per month

What you will do

• Characterize the brittle-ductile transition in three different limestone types.
• Systematically explore the effect of fluid additives on failure behavior under specific conditions.
• Develop new acoustic monitoring techniques to predict imminent rock failure.
• Test newly designed monitoring techniques on dm-scale samples together with the team.
• Present research work at international conferences and workshops.

Requirements

• MSc in Geoscience, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Applied Chemistry.
• Academic background including Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics.
• Hands-on attitude and enthusiasm for laboratory work.
• Programming skills sufficient for data analysis (Matlab, Python, or equivalent).
• English working proficiency (oral and written).
• Must be based in or relocate to Delft, Netherlands.
