Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)

TL;DR

Database Administrator (PostgreSQL): Supporting the implementation, standardization, and maintenance of PostgreSQL as an enterprise relational database platform with an accent on performance optimization, security, and high availability. Focus on designing HA and failover solutions, tuning SQL queries, and managing database migrations.

Location: Hybrid: 1–2 days per month in the office (Częstochowa, Poland)

What you will do

• Design and implement PostgreSQL environments and define platform standards and best practices.
• Install, configure, and administer databases, including security hardening and access control policies.
• Configure backups, disaster recovery, and High Availability (HA) and failover solutions.
• Monitor database environments and perform troubleshooting to identify bottlenecks.
• Analyze and optimize SQL queries to improve system efficiency.
• Support database migrations from other platforms to PostgreSQL and create operational documentation.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• English: Minimum B2 level.
• Experience administering Linux systems.
• Proficiency in replication, backup & recovery, performance tuning, and security hardening.
• Experience with production environment monitoring and database migration.
• Location: Must be based in Poland and able to visit the office in Częstochowa.

Nice to have

• Experience with Patroni, PgBouncer, repmgr, and pgBackRest/Barman.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
