Compensation: $119,200 - $155,000 per year

What you will do
- Define and govern scalable system architectures integrating hardware, software, firmware, automation, and data components.
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to capture requirements and system behavior with full traceability.
- Translate clinical, business, and regulatory needs into clear system requirements and architectural solutions.
- Evaluate architecture options and build-versus-buy decisions based on technical and financial considerations.
- Lead design reviews and drive trade studies to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost.
- Drive modeling, simulation, and prototyping to validate architecture and reduce integration risk early in development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems, Mechatronics, Computer, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in systems architecture or integration within medical imaging, medical devices, or other regulated industries.
- Strong foundation in MBSE and requirements management.
- Experience with hardware/software integration, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and Sim-to-Real prototyping.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Must be based in or be able to relocate to Rochester, NY, US.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of experience in regulated medical device environments.
- Past experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or solution architecture.
- Knowledge of regulated development frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and IEC 62304.
- Advanced experience with digital thread concepts and system-level V&V strategies.
