Lab Technician (Medtech)

TL;DR

Lab Technician (Medtech): Supporting the R&D Engineering team in the development and evaluation of film and photochemical products with an accent on manufacturing NDT control strips and test film. Focus on executing test plans, mixing chemistry, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

Location: 100% onsite in Rochester, NY, US

Compensation: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour

What you will do

• Mix chemistry and operate sensitometers or X-ray units to process NDT or Dental products.
• Execute test plans using proprietary software and document results in Electronic Summary Reports.
• Produce control strips and test film within wet lab and darkroom environments.
• Generate test data and complete Certificates of Conformance and Analysis using Excel and Word.
• Perform routine equipment preparation and calibration, escalating maintenance needs.
• Record deviations from plans adhering to strict Quality and Regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Associate degree in chemistry or biology with 1+ year of lab experience, OR a HS/GED with at least 5 years of lab experience.
• Strict adherence to safe laboratory practices and proper chemical handling/disposal.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn proprietary software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with darkrooms, sensitized components, and film coatings.
• Knowledge of sensitometry, processing, and densitometry.
• Experience with Photochemistry, X-ray, and radiography equipment.
• Background in applied statistics.
• Familiarity with LIMS systems.
