SIU Specialist (Insurance)

Location: United States; available states include Arizona, Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Salary: $32.00–$38.00 per hour

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve suspected fraudulent automobile claims, including vandalism, theft, fire, injury, and coverage-related claims.
• Conduct social media investigations, database searches, vehicle history and locator searches, phone-record requests, credit checks, and background checks.
• Submit eFD-1 fraud reports to the California Department of Insurance Fraud Bureau.
• Document investigations, evaluations, recommendations, action plans, and claim-file activity.
• Review claim inventories for suspicious activity and maintain records of persons and entities with NICB alerts.
• Coordinate with district attorneys, law enforcement, departments of insurance, NICB personnel, claims teams, and company management; conduct occasional field investigations and presentations.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience handling automobile claims in the property and casualty insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of insurance practices, standards, and terminology.
• Experience with both auto property damage and injury claims is recommended.
• Must pass a background check.
• Strong organization, decision-making, analytical, interpersonal, customer service, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet performance goals.
