Associate Director, Philanthropy

TL;DR

Associate Director, Philanthropy: Building, managing, and closing six- to seven-figure multi-year grants from foundations and individual donors with an accent on prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Focus on owning funder pipeline outcomes, producing proposals, reports, and budgets, and aligning internal stakeholders on opportunities.

Location: Remote (in the U.S.), must reside full-time within the United States. Collaborative working hours: 10 AM - 3 PM PT. Up to 25% travel.

Salary: $108,503 to $132,825 annually

What you will do

• Devise and execute development strategies for funders, including prospect research, outreach, pipeline management, and conversion to donors.
• Drive cultivation and stewardship plans with meeting prep, decks, follow-ups, events, and correspondence.
• Coordinate with Finance, Program, and Product teams to produce and submit concept notes, LOIs, proposals, budgets, and reports via Salesforce and funder portals.
• Guide funding strategy, inform resource allocation, share learnings, and mentor peers on funder engagement.
• Build and oversee a blended portfolio of prospects and current funders, holding stakeholders accountable to deadlines.

Requirements

• 7+ years professional fundraising, sales, or similar experience with track record of meeting revenue goals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, persistent, highly organized with attention to detail
• Energetic, flexible, adaptable, positive in high-growth environment
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (health and safety permitting)
• Knowledge of civic tech and social sector funding landscape
