TL;DR
Finishing Operator (12hr overnight shift) (Manufacturing): Operating slitting, doctoring, and palletizing equipment while preparing rolls, reels, splices, labels, and materials for transport with an accent on safety, quality control, and production accuracy. Focus on maintaining over 96% splice success, identifying equipment issues, performing corrective actions, and supporting World Class Manufacturing improvements.

Location: Denton, Texas, United States; 12-hour overnight shift from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. Rotating weekly schedule with every other weekend: 36 hours in week one and 48 hours in week two. Work visas and relocation are not sponsored.

What you will do

  • Operate equipment in slitting, doctoring, and palletizing areas around heavy equipment.
  • Inspect coated stock, perform quality control checks, and record production data accurately.
  • Prepare roll-to-roll splices with a target success rate above 96%, load rolls, unload reels, and label finished reels.
  • Prepare materials from the slitter for transport, remove quality samples and scrap, and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Identify equipment issues, take corrective action, stop machines when necessary, and request maintenance support.
  • Train less experienced personnel and participate in or lead World Class Manufacturing improvement teams.

Requirements

  • Prior production or manufacturing machine operation experience is preferred.
  • Basic machine maintenance skills and experience with quality inspection and machine systems.
  • Intermediate computer skills and basic math and reading comprehension.
  • Ability to follow work directions, training manuals, safety rules, standard operating procedures, and World Class Manufacturing processes.
  • Dependability, reliability, and the ability to work a rotating 12-hour overnight schedule.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
