Collections Specialist (Finance)

Location: Hybrid for candidates residing in Illinois, with 4 days in the Chicago office and 1 day working from home; candidates outside Illinois may be considered for remote work within the United States.

Salary: $51,000–$60,000 annual salary for Illinois-based roles.

What you will do

• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, identify overdue accounts, and prioritize collection efforts.
• Investigate and resolve customer billing, usage, invoice, payment, and account balance discrepancies.
• Use NetSuite to retrieve and analyze invoice data and verify billed amounts against contract terms.
• Use Salesforce to review customer contracts and understand billing terms and conditions.
• Document customer interactions, resolution actions, and follow-up activities.
• Support the finance team with additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal, for handling sensitive customer interactions and explaining complex information.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Illinois-based candidates must be able to work four days per week in the Chicago office; remote consideration is available for candidates outside Illinois.
