What you will do

• Own engineering strategy, roadmap delivery, quality, reliability, and architecture for Marketplace domain including Experience, Checkout, Discoverability, and Post Purchase.
• Lead manager-of-managers organization and develop leadership bench of engineering managers and senior ICs.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Commercial, and Operations to optimize full funnel from discovery to post-purchase.
• Enhance traffic resilience, operational excellence, observability, incident response, and capacity planning for peaks and launches.
• Improve systems for search, pricing, checkout, payments, post-purchase servicing, and experimentation.
• Balance short-term growth with long-term platform health and establish operating mechanisms like planning, reviews, and metrics.

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering with experience leading engineering leaders and cross-functional product organizations
• Proven leadership of multiple teams in marketplace, checkout, discovery, or funnel-heavy domains
• Strong technical judgment in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, observability, and incident management
• Experience owning search/recommendations, checkout/payments, risk/fraud, or post-purchase in high-traffic consumer products
• Ability to translate commercial goals into engineering priorities via metrics and trade-offs
• Track record improving engineering maturity in planning, staffing, quality, architecture, and delivery

Nice to have

• Experience in ticketing, travel, e-commerce, food delivery, gaming commerce, or consumer fintech
• Work with search, ranking, personalization, or recommendation systems
• Knowledge of payments, refunds, fraud prevention, or regulated transactions
• Familiarity with AI/ML product features or AI for engineering productivity
• Supporting global, localized products with multiple payments and regions
