Engineering Manager - Observability

Location: Remote; candidates considered in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Ireland and the UK only

Base compensation in the UK: GBP 103,000–129,000 per year, plus RSUs.

What you will do

• Manage and develop backend and frontend engineers through feedback, career conversations and growth support.
• Guide the team building Fleet Management, the Kubernetes Monitoring Helm Chart and the Instrumentation Hub.
• Collaborate with product, engineering leadership and go-to-market teams to improve the end-to-end observability experience.
• Lead projects from ideation and planning through execution, launch and follow-up while maintaining high quality.
• Build a psychologically safe, autonomous environment that supports experimentation and continuous improvement.
• Work across team boundaries to solve customer problems and contribute to projects beyond the team’s scope.

Requirements

• Experience with observability, especially OpenTelemetry, or with central control planes managing fleets of collectors.
• Experience managing complexity, aligning stakeholders and improving engineering team performance.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency and observability.
• Ability to collaborate across time zones and cultures in a fully remote environment with clear, empathetic communication.
• Customer-focused approach and the ability to stay current with technical trends.
• Comfort using AI-assisted tooling and integrating AI-powered tools into engineering workflows.
