Location: Must be based in or be able to work from offices in San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C., or New York (at least 3 days per week)

Salary: $320,000 - $385,000 USD

What you will do

• Draft and negotiate security design-basis and site-hardening specifications for build-to-suit, lease, and colo agreements.
• Manage provenance, anti-tamper, and chain-of-custody warranties for silicon, ODM, and OEM hardware procurement.
• Develop security schedules for carrier and fiber agreements, including encryption-in-transit and route integrity.
• Establish background-screening, training, and badge-revocation requirements for vendor and contractor personnel.
• Support CFIUS and outbound-investment screening for infrastructure vendors and sites.
• Build the security legal function by creating template libraries, design-basis templates, and negotiation playbooks.

Requirements

• JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Must be based in San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C., or New York.
• Experience with NDAA §889/§5949, CHIPS-Act guardrails, and CFIUS/outbound-investment screening.
• Proficiency with NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 physical-control frameworks and the attestation process.
• Ability to translate complex security and supply-chain-integrity concepts into clear risk assessments.

Nice to have

• 10-12 years of relevant legal experience in critical infrastructure, hardware, or network security.
• In-house experience at cloud service providers, hyperscalers, semiconductor companies, or defense/aerospace primes.
• Law firm experience specializing in national security, supply-chain, or critical infrastructure.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
