TL;DR

Analyst, Revenue Accounting (Finance): Responsible for reconciliation and analysis of customer revenue and expense accounts against business plans with an accent on revenue recognition and data retrieval. Focus on managing day-to-day transactions, building detailed spreadsheets, and conducting ad hoc analysis of revenue and COGS actuals versus forecast.

Location: Must be based in Hanover, MD (Baltimore area), USA

Salary: $61,800 - $80,000

What you will do

  • Reconcile and analyze customer revenue and expense accounts against the business plan and forecast.
  • Manage day-to-day transaction activities and maintain current revenue recognition files (white papers).
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal groups to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Develop efficient processes for retrieving data from Oracle, OBIEE, and Looker.
  • Contribute to the creation and roll-up of the yearly business plan and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and build detailed spreadsheets for revenue and COGS actuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Professional experience in accounting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Revenue Management Software.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets using Excel.
  • Availability to work four weekends per year (one per quarter close).
  • Must be located in the Hanover/Baltimore, MD area.

Nice to have

  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Direct exposure to Revenue Recognition Rules and Regulations.
