TL;DR
Institutional Business Development Manager (Defined Contributions): Develop and execute territory sales plans to maximize institutional client sales and grow revenues with an accent on market penetration, client relationships, and product solutions for defined contributions. Focus on guiding prospects through sales processes, proactively managing redemptions, and partnering with VP Sales to increase investment professional support.
Location: Flexible hybrid schedule at 483 Bay Street, Toronto until late 2026, then new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings. Occasional travel required.
Base Salary: $75,000 to $90,000, based on experience and qualifications. Variable compensation plan and RRSP contribution after 6 months.

What you will do
- Develop and execute Territory Sales Plan using institutional data to identify contacts, high-impact activities, product opportunities, and corporate messages.
- Guide prospects through sales process, uncover needs, offer solutions, and proactively manage redemptions.
- Initiate client relationships via prospecting, leads, and local involvement; follow up on opportunities for consultant discussions using actuarial and pension knowledge.
- Partner with VP Sales to strategize prospect penetration, grow business, and meet territory needs.
- Support team with portfolio analysis, investment proposals, competitive research, data mining, and reporting.
Requirements
- 3+ years of sales and institutional experience.
- Exposure in Investment Consulting, Actuarial/Pension functions with client-facing responsibilities in institutional hybrid sales.
- Experience as Business Development Manager with proven track record exceeding metrics and managing client relationships in financial services.
- University degree or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Canadian Securities Course (CSC) required.
- Actively pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation (Level 1 completed).
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, analytical thinking, written/verbal communication, relationship management, and critical thinking.
