TL;DR
Learning and Development Director (HRTech): Design and deliver the leadership framework, build manager and employee development programs, and architect talent review and succession processes with an accent on building a modern L&D function from scratch in a public company. Focus on launching tiered leadership curricula, performance check-in processes, and engagement strategies while measuring KPIs and ROI for executive stakeholders.
Location: Hybrid in Des Moines, IA (Tuesday–Thursday in office)
Salary: $110,000 - $160,000 USD (Des Moines pay range, plus 20% annual bonus)

What you will do
- Design and launch DHI’s leadership framework for managers, senior leaders, and executives in partnership with CPO and SLT.
- Build and deliver tiered leadership development curriculum using cohort programs, workshops, coaching, and on-the-job application.
- Create manager training program for coaching, feedback, check-ins, and team development.
- Architect employee career development frameworks connected to job architecture.
- Facilitate annual talent review and succession planning process, turning insights into development actions.
- Own performance check-in process, including cadence, tools, and manager enablement for SMART goals and feedback.
- Partner on culture, capability, and talent strategy; measure L&D and engagement KPIs and report ROI.
Requirements
- 7+ years in Learning & Development, Organization Development, or Talent Management, including 3+ years in leadership building programs at scale
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in I/O Psychology, Organizational Development, HR, Education, or related field preferred
- Experience designing leadership frameworks, manager programs, and talent review/succession processes from the ground up
- Deep facilitation skills for senior leaders and managers
- Strong analytical skills with engagement, performance data, and metrics
- Track record as a builder launching new programs; excellent business acumen
Nice to have
- Coaching certification (ICF, CTI, Hudson, or equivalent)
- Certifications in talent assessments (Hogan, DiSC, MBTI, Korn Ferry, CCL)
- Experience in public company, high-growth tech, or HR/recruiting tech
- Experience with LMS platforms, talent management tech, AI-enabled learning tools
- Background partnering with sales and engineering leaders
- Experience owning employee engagement survey lifecycle
