Solution Architect (K12)

Location: Remote within the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Up to 5% travel required.

Salary: $81,045.75–$156,000 per year, with potential bonus and eligible employee benefits.

What you will do

• Contribute to the K12 architecture vision and strategy across product platforms.
• Present designs, review proposals, and help establish shared standards through the Architecture Council.
• Define secure, performant, reliable, observable, and maintainable platform architectures.
• Identify and prioritize technical debt while supporting estimation, planning, and business-case evaluation.
• Partner with Product, UX, engineering, and business stakeholders to sequence large initiatives into roadmaps.
• Guide implementation, document architecture decisions, and encourage innovation through prototypes and technology exploration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including influence over multi-system architecture.
• 3+ years of experience building solutions on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with multiple programming languages, UI frameworks, database technologies, modern web technologies, and open-source frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability systems and application, integration, SOA, and distributed architecture patterns.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, technical documentation, and influence-based leadership skills; background check clearance required.

• Experience building SaaS products.
