Senior Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Waltham, Massachusetts or Dallas, Texas; remote in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, or North Carolina

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 base salary annually in Massachusetts

What you will do

• Design and review AWS architectures across compute, storage, data, and serverless services.
• Develop multi-account, multi-region, hybrid connectivity, and enterprise networking architectures.
• Define cloud security architecture covering IAM, KMS, encryption, secrets management, segmentation, and detection and response.
• Partner with Operations, SRE, and engineering to codify architectures through Terraform, AWS CDK, and cloud guardrails.
• Resolve complex cloud issues involving performance, cost, compliance, and blast radius.
• Coach engineers and architects and lead improvements in cloud, networking, and security practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years designing and operating production cloud environments, including 5+ years focused primarily on AWS.
• Deep expertise in AWS networking, including VPC, subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Global Accelerator, CloudWAN, and inspection architectures.
• Strong cloud security experience with IAM policy authoring, least-privilege design, KMS, encryption, WAF/Shield, segmentation, and cloud-native detection and response.
• Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation, with the ability to contribute to code and pull requests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical, executive, and command-line contexts.

Nice to have

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking Specialty, or Security Specialty certification.
• Experience with regulated environments such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, or FedRAMP.
• Experience leading architecture reviews, threat models, and Well-Architected assessments.
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures, including Azure, GCP, or private-cloud interconnects.
• Familiarity with EKS, service meshes, and API gateways.
