What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable dbt models and projects in large, multi-domain environments.
• Act as the dbt expert, refactoring complex transformations and resolving performance issues.
• Accelerate the migration from legacy DOMO pipelines to a modern data platform.
• Refine shared approaches to data modeling, documentation, and dbt project structure.
• Integrate AI-powered IDEs, coding assistants, and automation tools into development workflows.
• Mentor other Analytics Engineers to strengthen their SQL and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or data transformation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with dbt or similar transformation tools like SQLMesh.
• Advanced SQL skills for refactoring complex queries and optimizing transformations.
• Must be based in the Netherlands.
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
• Experience migrating legacy analytics environments to modern stacks.
• Exposure to data governance or metadata tools.
