What you will do

• Own end-to-end product delivery, ensuring the roadmap is shipped on time and at high quality.
• Manage and coach four engineering managers to strengthen leadership and build a talent bench.
• Lead engineering hiring by personally closing senior hires to grow the team to 50+ members.
• Partner with the Head of Product and Head of Design on roadmap prioritization and scope trade-offs.
• Act as the engineering voice on the leadership team, communicating trade-offs and representing the function externally.
• Collaborate with the CTO to translate architectural and AI bets into product-engineering execution.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering organizations of 25+ people, ideally through a growth phase to 50-100 members.
• 3+ years of experience as a manager of managers.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to review system designs and challenge architectural decisions.
• Proven track record of personally recruiting and closing senior engineers.
• Must be based in Lisbon or willing to relocate.

Nice to have

• Experience in marketplaces, consumer products, or physical-world operations.
• Background in engineering cultures known for high shipping velocity (e.g., Stripe, Figma, DoorDash).
