TL;DR

Telecom Engineer (Networking): Maintaining and supporting internal data networks and NERC CIP compliance operations with an accent on Cisco device management, IOS/OS upgrades, and security configuration. Focus on implementing ACL changes, executing patch mitigation plans, and automating operational tasks using Ansible.

What you will do

• Support internal data networks to improve reliability and performance.
• Execute NERC CIP operational support activities including Open Gear configuration and troubleshooting.
• Manage password changes and ACL modifications on Cisco and Open Gear devices.
• Perform Cisco IOS/OS upgrades and support scheduled upgrade initiatives.
• Review and support the execution of Patch Mitigation Plans (PMPs).
• Develop and execute Ansible playbooks to automate repeatable operational tasks.
• Manage Change Requests and tickets using Footprints and ServiceNow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field plus 2 years of experience, or High School/GED plus 6 years of related experience.
• Strong TCP/IP fundamentals and demonstrated experience troubleshooting enterprise networks.
• Experience performing Cisco IOS/OS updates and validation checks.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting common networking protocols, routing, and switching in production environments.
• Discipline in ticketing and change documentation (Footprints or ServiceNow preferred).
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Charlotte, NC

Nice to have

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA.
• Experience working in regulated/compliance-driven environments (e.g., NERC CIP).
• Hands-on experience with Open Gear or similar console/terminal server platforms.
• Advanced experience in Ansible playbook creation and maintenance.
