Tax Manager (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco or San Jose, CA (4 days per week in-office)

Compensation: $191,000 – $255,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
• Drive the tax accounting close process and ensure timely data reporting.
• Oversee federal, state, local, and international tax filings.
• Manage tax projects including R&D tax credits, Sec. 174, and Sec. 382 analyses.
• Handle income tax audits and coordinate with tax authorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tax systems and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and active CPA license required.
• 6+ years of experience in public accounting or internal tax departments of US multi-state corporations.
• Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, SEC disclosure standards, and US GAAP.
• Expertise in US and international sales and use tax laws.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience in machine learning or computer hardware industries.
• Proficiency with Netsuite and Avalara.
• MS in Tax.
