Senior Accountant (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California

Base salary: $135,000–$145,000 per year, plus equity and discretionary performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Own key month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid schedules, and journal entries.
• Maintain general ledger activity in Campfire and prepare accurate, audit-ready documentation.
• Partner with the Director of Accounting to improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the close process.
• Support the implementation and automation of AP and expense technology, including workflow design and coding rules.
• Strengthen accounting controls and support internal and external audit requests.
• Identify inefficiencies and use responsible AI and automation approaches to reduce repetitive work.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with direct ownership of recurring month-end close responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience working with an ERP and confidence learning new financial systems and tools.
• Ability to independently own workstreams, solve problems, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in San Francisco and collaborate in person when required.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company.
• Experience with Campfire, Bill.com, Expensify, HubiFi, Ramp, Navan, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting ERP, AP, or expense platform implementations or migrations.
• Experience using automation or AI tools in finance or accounting workflows.
