Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive): Executing the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to ensure supplier compliance and mitigate risks with an accent on Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and quality plans. Focus on performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and auditing supplier manufacturing processes.

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan (at least 3 days/week). No immigration sponsorship provided for this role.

What you will do

• Execute the APQP process with assigned suppliers to meet or exceed program milestones.
• Perform program reviews to monitor achievements and escalate risks or issues.
• Ensure the supply base adheres to GM standards and quality manufacturing processes.
• Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and the determination of corrective actions.
• Verify on-site implementation of corrective actions and ensure knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality or Engineering.
• Ability to travel up to 75% to supplier manufacturing sites.
• Proficiency in print reading, part measurement, gage design, and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, statistical quality control, and design of experiments.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive Tier 1 or OEM suppliers.
• Expertise in exterior components.
• IATF or ASQ Certifications.
