Senior Product Support Engineer (Multilane, Penang): Supporting hardware engineering activities for test & measurement product lines in wireless, high speed I/O, and optical test solutions with an accent on troubleshooting analog, digital, RF, and photonics issues to module and component level. Focus on identifying failure patterns, optimizing test methods, enhancing yield and reliability, and driving manufacturing improvements at contract site.

Location: Onsite at Bukit Minyak Area, Mainland Penang, Malaysia. Only local candidates considered, no relocation or visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot hardware issues in analog, digital, high speed optical, and RF to module and component level.
• Perform RF and precision photonics measurements like P1dB, phase noise, S-parameters, BER, eye diagrams, and optical metrics.
• Analyze data to identify failure patterns, optimize test methods, and improve yield and reliability.
• Drive board and system design improvements using production knowledge.
• Manage hardware deviations, ECOs, test optimization, and communication with contract manufacturing.
• Train test engineers, implement debug plans, and work with vendors on component qualification.

Requirements

• BA/BS in relevant field (MSEE preferred) and 8-10 years in hardware/product engineering or failure analysis for RF and optical systems.
• Deep expertise in photonics, high-speed I/O test solutions, RF/optical products, and test equipment like PXIe modules, tunable lasers, BERTs.
• Experience with Wi-Fi/cellular testers, optical, BERT, DSO, TDR systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, failure analysis, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be local to Penang area; no relocation or visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• RF and optical board design experience.
• mm-wave products experience.
• PXI test solutions knowledge.
• Familiarity with PCBA schematics, layouts, fabrication, and BOMs.
