What you will do

• Provide strategic and operational oversight for the Thermomechanical Treatment Facility (TTF) and manage the operations department.
• Deliver superior environmental, health, and safety (EHS) leadership to ensure zero accidents and full permit compliance.
• Optimize boiler and turbine performance and translate business strategy into actionable operational plans and KPIs.
• Lead and develop a diverse team, including Operations and Shift Supervisors and Operating Technicians.
• Champion continuous improvement and productivity using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Manage resource planning, employee relations, and facility auditing to ensure operational discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or 10+ years of plant operations supervisory experience).
• Extensive experience in power plant operations or high-pressure boiler systems.
• Proven track record in a People Leader role with the ability to develop personnel.
• Strong safety management skills specifically within high-hazard operations.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Alexandria, VA.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the US.

Nice to have

• ASME, QRO/CFO Certification.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
• Experience in specialty chemical plants or waste-to-energy facilities.
• Familiarity with CMMS for cost and work order administration.
