Location: Onsite in Newton, Massachusetts, United States (minimum 4 days a week onsite).

Salary: $152,800 - $229,200 USD

What you will do

• Lead architecture for foundational software including runtime, IPC, device communication, system services, and operational backbone of a medical device.
• Define multi-release direction for platform scalability with new clinical capabilities, hardware, and regulatory expectations.
• Set standards for infrastructure code on reliability, observability, performance, and safety.
• Design and deliver major subsystems, cross-cutting architecture, or large technical initiatives.
• Drive technical alignment across software, systems, quality, product, and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and shape technical roadmaps and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years, Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required (sponsorship available for Principal-level roles).
• Broad technical judgment for complex system and architectural problems.
• Experience communicating technical tradeoffs to stakeholders.
