Software Engineer III – Developer Platform & AI Enablement

Location: Office-based or remote within the USA; travel and live remote and in-person facilitation are required as needed.

Salary: $102,000–$136,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, debug, test, document, release, and support developer-platform capabilities end to end.
• Develop reusable GitHub Actions, composite actions, Terraform modules, and other infrastructure-as-code components.
• Build and operate MCP servers over standard input/output and remote HTTP transports, including tool schemas, authentication, and transport selection.
• Extend the internal agent platform, SDK, APIs, and local-model routing capabilities used by engineering teams.
• Measure adoption and delivery outcomes through developer-facing instrumentation and delivery-metrics pipelines.
• Facilitate AI in Automation Office Hours, workshops, architectural spikes, planning, estimation, and engineering enablement.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science.
• 3–5 years of software development experience and experience building internal tools for other engineers.
• Daily use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Direct experience authoring reusable GitHub Actions or equivalent shared CI, plus infrastructure as code.
• Technical writing experience covering design documents, ADRs, runbooks, or actionable engineering documentation.
• Ability to work remotely or from an office in the USA, travel as needed, and teach live in remote and in-person sessions.

Nice to have

• Experience operating MCP servers with remote HTTP transports and authentication.
• AWS deployment and debugging experience.
• Experience with local or open-weight inference, including Ollama, llama.cpp, MLX, quantization, context sizing, and KV-cache sizing.
• Experience measuring developer adoption, DORA-style delivery metrics, or organizational data pipelines.
• Healthcare supply chain experience, including EDI documents and standards.
