Fleet Operations Technician

TL;DR

Fleet Operations Technician (Autonomous Vehicles): Maintaining fleet vehicles through routine OEM maintenance, complex mechanical and electrical repairs, and hardware upgrades with an accent on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration. Focus on executing test-plans, documenting findings, building test rigs, and implementing workshop processes.

Location: Aledo, Texas (night shift Monday-Friday 8:00pm-5:00am CT, onsite required). Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Salary: $31.00-$36.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform diagnostics, test-plans, routine maintenance, and complex repairs on fleet vehicles in collaboration with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware teams.
• Document and communicate findings through processes and systems, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain clean workspace, balance multiple tasks, and deliver quality service with a team-oriented approach.
• Assemble prototypes, fabricate parts using tools like drill press and saws, and set up test rigs for mechanical/electrical testing.
• Provide feedback and implement improvements to workshop standards and protocols.

Requirements

• 3-6 years OEM Technician experience, including at least 2 years diesel
• Valid US driver’s license; ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (stand, bend, climb etc.)
• Solid diagnostics skills, mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of shop safety, DOT, and CVSA rules
• Strong communication skills (verbal/written), attention to detail, ability to work independently
• Available for night shifts, overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts
• Ability to read/interpret technical documents and speak effectively to groups

Nice to have

• Direct manufacturing/prototyping experience
• Prior work with autonomous vehicles
• Experience with CAN bus issues
