TL;DR
Payroll and Benefits Specialist (HR Operations): Administering end-to-end payroll and employee benefits programs with an accent on multi-state compliance and HRIS system integrity. Focus on optimizing Paycom workflows, managing benefit enrollments, and ensuring strict adherence to federal and state payroll laws.
Location: Primarily in-person in Salt Lake City, UT, with occasional remote flexibility. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

What you will do
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time using Paycom.
- Administer comprehensive benefit programs (medical, dental, retirement, etc.) and manage open enrollment.
- Act as the primary internal superuser and point of contact for Paycom HRIS troubleshooting and reporting.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
- Collaborate with Finance for payroll reconciliations and general ledger alignment.
- Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and audits.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour requirements, and benefits practices.
- Experience as an HRIS or payroll system superuser (Paycom preferred).
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as CPP, FPC, or CEBS.
- Experience with ACA administration and benefits reconciliations.
- Proven track record in leading payroll and benefits process improvement initiatives.
- Experience training managers and employees on HRIS self-service tools.
